Skilled Landscaper & Team Leader

Location: Various project sites, mainly in Cheshire and North West

Walker Landscape and Design is a fast-growing garden design and build company working throughout Cheshire and the North West. We design and build gardens that are uniquely tailored to each of our client’s specific needs, tastes and lifestyles, are built with the highest quality workmanship and finished to the highest of standards and provide our clients with many years of enjoyment. Job Purpose:

By working closely with the Operations Manager and Managing Director, the Skilled Landscaper & Team Leader will ensure that Walker Landscape & Design residential landscaping projects are delivered safely, on time and on budget, whilst exceeding the client’s expectations. The role will require a keen eye for detail and a high level of hard landscaping skills including excellence in paving, decking, blockwork and brickwork. You will be responsible for a small team of landscapers and must have great people skills and be able to organise and motivate your team, whilst being the first point of contact for our clients and as such have a professional and approachable manner at all times.

Key Knowledge:

  • Relevant experience/qualification in landscaping

  • Good understanding of landscape construction

  • Basic principles of horticulture

  • Basic knowledge of H&S requirements

  • Awareness of project budgets and timelines

Key Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee key domestic landscaping projects

  • Understanding of design drawings and setting out sites and levels

  • Able to plan, prioritise and work to deadlines

  • Ability to problem solve

  • Ensure you and your team adhere to H&S guidelines and wear the correct PPE

  • Tickets / Experience of using Plant Machinery safely

  • Excellent knowledge of laying all types of paving, setts and stone

  • Blockwork, brickwork and retaining walls

  • Decking, fencing and timber structure

  • Shrub and tree planting

  • Surfing and seeding

Landscaper – Semi Skilled

Are you an experienced and hardworking Semi-skilled Landscaper who is looking to develop their skills within our fast-growing landscape design and build company? If that sounds like you, then we have an exciting opportunity to work within our award-winning company.

A bit about you:

To be successful in this role you will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and be able to work both independently and as part of a team to help deliver high end gardens for our clients in Chester, Cheshire and the North West. You will have a keen eye for detail and a proven track record in landscape construction. You will work well with others, be enthusiastic, self motivated and have a friendly and approachable manner at all times. You will be flexible, hardworking and enjoy the challenge that comes with working in a rapidly growing company.

Key Skills & Responsibilities:

– Relevant experience in landscaping (ideally 2 years)

– Good knowledge of laying paving, setts and stone

– Some experience of blockwork and brickwork, and the commitment to improving this skill

– Some experience of construction of decking and fencing, , and the commitment to improving this skill

– Shrub and tree planting, turfing and seeding

– Some knowledge and understanding of design drawings and help with the setting out of sites and levels would be advantageous

– Ability to think logically and plan ahead

– Ability to work independently or as part of a small team

– Adhere to H&S guidelines and wear correct PPE

– Full driving license

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £24,000.00 – £27,000 per year DOE
